The Smurfs 2 has everything you hated about the first movie, and more.. Spins its wheels like rodents in a Habitrail.. Relentlessly awful.. The small-town setting of a half-century ago is beautifully animated by director Peter Lepenotis and his team, and there are some nicely staged old-school action sequences.. A listless, tween James Bond wannabe.. Not so much of a film as it is a collection of images and sounds that bludgeon you.. This elaborate and good-natured entertainment is never as funn...
